The Afrocentric Twist X LFDW 2016 Day 3 X The Runway Proposal

09:15:00

Hi Guys,
How you all doing,
At last LFDW 2016 came to an end, because of school i was able to witness the last 2 days i.e Day 3 and Day 4 but i tell you it was fun to the core because i met a lot of people and i was able to rub minds and i saw different statements from different staples.

How i put my clothes together for Day 3 was quite funny cos i was so eager to make a difference but in an african way, playing with african prints not forgetting my culture even though it was tagged street style but popping up culture and adding it to latest trends was my desire.

I tried mixing prints Ankara and Adire together and it worked perfectly well with a pop of my navy blue jacket from Mark & Spencer and my Burgundy tassel loafers with fringe details from Colwyn Apparels. His I.G handle is @colwynapparels
It was fun meeting my style crush Jennifer Oseh and also having an interview with Spice Tv, Ebonylife Tv etc.

Like i said before, coming up with the idea of mixing prints was quite not easy but i was ready to take the risk and sit down and watch whatever comes, The Adire deep cut shirt and the Ankara Pants were sketched by me but wasn't designed by me.
I'll be talking about designers who came through at Day 3 Runway Show

SOPHIE ZINGA

Sophie Zinga got attention with the exclusive details on her look and it was chic, simple, classy and at the same time sophisticated. I totally loved the extended earrings and mostly the dresses.

MAXHOSA BY LADUMA

Laduma showcased a collection of knitwear and it was lovely with bright colors, tasseled details and fringe too, Nothing sweeter than when tradition is never neglected. The famous south African designer did not disappoint with his handcrafted collections.

I totally liked how simple his look was at the same time explicit, yeah the weather is flaky because it could be cold today and tomorrow otherwise but getting this knitwear which is so rich in culture is never a bad idea and lastly the athleisure trend too was not forgotten if you noticed.

JOHNSON JOHNSON

This was where Johnson stole the show with his proposal on the runway. His collections was so functional and that's all i always wanted to see on the runway cos his designs can be worn anytime and with his pop of athleisure too was a big yes for me cos i totally enjoyed every bit of the show and all of a sudden it became emotional when the models showed up on the runway with flowers and there i knew something is fishy then the designer of the collection came out alongside with the popular musician Richassani singing a love song from his album and a style guru Noble Igwe on the runway and all we saw on the screen was "Beata Will You Marry Me", I was overwhelmed and fortunately for him she was shocked but she said "YES"

The addition of traditional patterns mixed with athleisure was lovely, now you see why i said he stole the show.

WEDDINGS BY MAI ATAFO

MAI ATAFO was another show stopper with his extraordinary collection tagged "Weddings".
I bet if you're a wedding lover, this is particularly for you. The Owambe Gurus and The Yoruba Demons.
He featured Tania Omotayo in this collections, fortunately i'm short of words about his collections but i see greatness in Mai Atafo cos his collections based on wedding was topnotch, i totally enjoyed it from the beginning to the very end.

He made different staples from his collection for almost all wardrobes and every style enthusiast from the wedding guests to the groom and also the bride.
